Developmental Vision Exams : Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury or Illness |
|
Vision problems resulting from acquired brain injury are often overlooked. Frequently these problems are hidden and neglected, lengthening and impairing rehabilitation.
A developmental vision evaluation or vision therapy can be very practical and effective to treat vision problems related to a stroke, traumatic brain injury or neurological event, or illness. After evaluation, Dr. Metzger determines how a patient takes in visual information, processes visual information and explains where the patient's visual strengths and weaknesses lie. Then the patient is prescribed a treatment regimen that may incorporate lenses, prisms, low vision aides and specific activities designed to improve control of the patient's visual system and increase visual efficiency. |
